Today’s Verse

He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed: for he giveth of his bread to the poor.

Proverbs 22:9

Friday, November 25

If you say, “God, because You are my God and because the most important thing is knowing You, then I’m going to put You first in my time.” Just watch what He does with everything else.  He promises to bless it.

God not only promises to bless us when we give back to Him, but He also promises to bless us when we give back to others. In today’s verse we read that a generous man will himself be blessed. God takes care of you. He blesses you back. The same is true with time. The more you give your time away to help other people, God will make sure that your needs are met, if you are managing your time wisely.

My question is: Whom do you need to give back to before it is too late? Whom do you need to make time for in your schedule before it is too late? Life is short and you are not guaranteed a tomorrow, much less next week. You are not guaranteed that the people in your life are going to be with you tomorrow or even next week.

Whatever is important in life, whatever is the right thing to do, whatever you are intending to do because you know that it is the good thing to do, do it now! Do not wait. Do not wait until your parents have died. Do not wait until your kids have grown up. Do not wait until your spouse’s heart has grown cold. If you do not do it now, you may not ever get to do it. Whatever it is, make that phone call today. Write that letter today. Offer that kindness now. Show that expression of love now. Tell somebody about Jesus now. They may not be around tomorrow.

Tell them about Jesus now.

Weekly Memory Verse

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

Psalm 100:4

"Thanksgiving is an emotional holiday. People travel thousands of miles to be with people they only see once a year. And then discover once a year is way too often."
