God says if you want to make time for the important things in life, you have to line up your priorities, and you have to lighten up your attitude. You have to learn to see humor in life.
The Bible says that life is meant to be enjoyed, not just endured. Plato said, “Life should be experienced as play.” [That’s why they call him Plato!]
Parents, have you ever said this? “Someday we’re going to look back and laugh at this.” Why wait? Why not go ahead and enjoy it now, laugh now. It will lighten the load and sure make the problem a whole lot easier. Your work is never going to be finished. That is called life. That is called being a parent. Your work will never be finished, so you have to find time in the middle of your problem, in the middle of your work, to make time for the important things of life.
One of the important things of life is simply enjoying the people around you that God gave you as gifts. If you wait until all your work is done to start enjoying the people around you, it ain’t gonna happen. Pardon my West Virginia English coming out in that last sentence. =)
In God’s value system, relationships are more important than accomplishments.
Do you need to lighten up your attitude? Is work the only thing that is important in your life? Does it keep you at the grindstone so you do not enjoy the people in your life? Are you so caught up in making a living that you are not making a life? Are you taking time for the people around you?
