Reason #7 to Rejoice: I rejoice because of the fellowship with other believers.
I think about old John, the beloved disciple, the last of the apostles who penned those three little letters alongside the Revelation.
Thinking of his brothers and sisters in Christ, he wrote today’s verse found in II John 12. It’s good to get a letter or an email, but how much more joyful to be face to face!
The church is like a spiritual bank. The more you invest in the church, the more you receive in returns. Invest a little; receive a little. Invest much; receive much.
I, like many of you, invest so much of my life in the church. That’s why it thrills me so. That’s why I love it so. On the other hand, some of you have made a very small investment. You hang back. You don’t get too involved. As a result, you miss so many blessings. Your return is very small. Open your heart. Pour out your love in the people of God and that investment will bring great returns both now and in eternity.
We have finally reached our final way to rejoice…
