Today’s Verse

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Matthew 5:6

Just how do you navigate God’s Word? Yes, as we looked at yesterday, you must desire spiritual growth. Today we look at a couple of practical suggestions.

Establish a set time. You must read DAILY. It must be a discipline, a holy habit. Whether morning, noon or night, have a time when you are in the Word every day.

Find a set place. Get a place where you can be comfortable and not interrupted. Keep your Bible, a pen and some good study tools handy.

Employ a set system. You might get a special One-Year Bible or use your regular Bible with the pastor’s weekly sermon notes. You might just concentrate on reading through one book at a time.

Wear out your Bible! New Bibles are pretty and shiny but they shouldn’t stay that way. Underline, circle, highlight! Customize your Bible.

As someone once said, “If your Bible is falling apart from use, your life is not.”

Beyond assurance of your salvation, nothing is more important in spiritual growth than disciplining yourself to be in the Word every day.

Weekly Memory Verse

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Philippians 4:13

"Daniel Webster was asked, 'What is the greatest thought that can occupy a man’s mind?' Mr. Webster replied, 'His accountability to God.'"
