Today’s Verse

Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish aught from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.

Deuteronomy 4:2

Tuesday, February 15

The Word of God is inspired, inerrant and infallible. I can take these three characteristics and move forward in my discipline and devotion to His Word. However, there are still other truths about the Word of God to examine. I find that the Word of God is complete.

Just read our verse for today. This is a great reminder. This means there is nothing that needs to be added. God gave us all that we need to know.

The very last chapter in the last book of the Bible repeats that warning. Revelation 22:18-19 says:

“For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: and if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”

We don’t need to dream dreams or see visions. We don’t need voices in the night to hear from God. Everything He means to say to humanity is recorded in the words on these pages. All we need to do is read them, absorb them and obey them.

Weekly Memory Verse

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.

Ephesians 3:20
