Verifiable Test #3: A Christian will love the church.

True Christians not only love God and His Word, but they love what God loves, namely the church. Today’s verse, Ephesians 5:25 teaches us that Christ loved the church so much that He gave His life for it. The church isn’t merely a building or an institution. The church is people, redeemed people who belong to God. You can’t be in love with God without being in love with His family.

The passion of my heart is love for the church. From the moment I was born again, I have loved the church. I can’t for a moment imagine being separated from it. I couldn’t think of staying away from it. I love to fellowship with my brothers and sisters in the church. Whether it is a church-wide fellowship, meeting a brother for an iced tea or just chatting on the phone, I love the church.

The highlight of my week is when the church gathers on Sunday morning. Nothing thrills me like standing with you, singing hymns of praise, lifting our collective voices in prayer and proclaiming the Word! This is the stuff of heaven!

We will continue with this verifiable test tomorrow, but for today, how much do you love your church? Your love for the church speaks volumes about your genuine conversion!
