For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are sons of God.

Romans 8:14

We continue in our devotional series to examine verifiable tests that prove our salvation in Christ.

Verifiable Test #4: A Christian will experience the leadership of the Holy Spirit.

When a person is saved, the Holy Spirit immediately takes up residence in his life. Ephesians 1:13 says, “In whom ye also trusted, after that you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, after that you believed, you were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise.”

The presence of the Holy Spirit guarantees our eternal security.

The Spirit does not come in an go out of our lives. Ephesians 4:30 says, “And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby you are sealed unto the day of redemption.” How long are we sealed for? We were “sealed unto the day of redemption.”

The Holy Spirit will abide in us until we arrive in heaven.

So, the indwelling presence and leadership of the Holy Spirit are marks of a true believer. Romans 8:14 states that explicitly, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are sons of God.”

Has the Holy Spirit of God worked in your heart and life?
