Today’s Verse

And refused to obey, neither were mindful of thy wonders that thou didst among them; but hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage: but thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsookest them not.

As we continue to examine character traits of those who are uncaring, we learn…

#6 Uncaring people are too INATTENTIVE

In an era of apps, Kindle, iPad, iPhone, i-this and i-that, it is amazing how forgetful we have become as a society. Why didn’t you visit that person in the hospital, call that single mother who visited in your GG class, check on that elderly friend…? You probably forgot. We get so wrapped up in our own lives that we often just forget about the needs of others.

#7 Uncaring people are too IMPERSONAL

Many think problems will solve themselves. “Don’t get involved! They’ll work it out.”

#8 Uncaring people are too IRREVERENT

Too often people are disrespectful and often judgmental. Have you ever said something like this, “If so and so had done what was right to begin with, she wouldn’t be in this situation right now?” How about “He made his bed, let him lie in it.” God help us to be sensitive. Tomorrow, we are going to learn how to be a caring person.

Weekly Memory Verse

Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves? And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

Luke 10:36-37

"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent."
- Calvin Coolidge
