We must avoid becoming involved in debates that do not center on the person of Jesus. We must never allow the gospel to become a religious debate. Salvation is not religion; it is a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
We can be sidetracked by religion – “Why are there so many religions, denominations, and churches?”
We can be sidetracked by the actions of others – “There are so many hypocrites in your church!” I usually agree!
We can be sidetracked by racial issues – “You people don’t understand!”
We can be sidetracked by social/political issues – “What about all the crime? What about the government? What about abortion? What about the election?”
No matter what your religious question or the question of another person, the answer is Jesus!
He is the only one who can truly satisfy your soul. So may I ask you, who is the last person you had a divine appointment with? Have you initiated that spiritual conversation? Have you addressed issues? Have you listened? Do you care? Our caring is revealed in how we handle our divine appointments.
