If you are wrong about your salvation, you can never make it right.
A person might make a fortune, lose it and make it back again during the course of his lifetime. A general might lose a battle but still win the war. However, if you are wrong about your own salvation, you will never have an opportunity to truly be saved after you die.
In Luke 16, Jesus gave the account of the rich man in hell. Our verse for today clearly states that this man literally cried out from hell.
However, Abraham responded, “…between us and you there is a great gulf fixed so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot, neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.” (Luke 16:26).
We all recognize that Jesus was brutally beaten and tortured for us as He was nailed to the cross. Upon further study of the rich man in hell, he too suffered tremendously. This passage gives us an insight to hell, which is for all of eternity.
I can assure you there is no partying! The rich man was in such misery that he begged someone to tell his five brothers about Christ so that they would not join him in the place called hell. Let’s make sure we are absolutely certain our salvation has been secured!
