Today’s Verse

Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

Persistent Motivation #7: Prayer gives us wisdom from God.
Unsure which way to turn? Don’t know what decision to make? Pray. Pray for wisdom. Pray that God will give you eyes to see your situation from His perspective. He’s promised to answer that prayer. James 1:5 says, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”
Persistent Motivation #8: Prayer frees us from the bondage of anxiety.
I Peter 5:7 tells us to be “casting all your care upon Him, for He careth for you.” Our verses for today, found in Philippians 4, clearly state that “peace” can be obtained as we let our “requests be made known.”
So many times I have been worried, stressed, and unable to sleep because of some problem. In a way, I am thankful for those problems because they drove me to prayer and in those moments I found release as “the peace that passeth all understanding” flooded over me. We can only “rejoice evermore” if we “pray without ceasing”. These two always go together.
Why not cast your care at His feet today? He can handle your problem better than you can any day of the week.

Weekly Memory Verse

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

I John 1:9

"I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed."
