A brand new year is here! What will you do with it? Please, do not fall by the wayside. 2023 should not find you casting off your relationship with Christ. 

A college student went to a photography studio with a framed picture of his girlfriend. He wanted the picture duplicated. To do this the studio owner had to remove it from the frame. In doing this, he noticed the inscription on the back of the photograph. 

It was written by the girlfriend: “My dearest Tommy: I love you with all my heart – I love you more and more each day – I will love you forever and ever. I am yours for all eternity.” It was signed “Dianne.” 

However, the picture contained a PS: “If we should ever break up, I want this picture back.” 

We who belong to Christ – there can be no “PS” in our life for God. We can never break up with Him as He belongs to us… forever. The Prudential Insurance Company’s slogan used to be “Get yourself a piece of the rock.” God is our Solid Rock, our Sure Foundation. 

Even Job, the quintessential sufferer of the OT, believed God was faithful, He said, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.” Job 13:15

The truth is, when we learn to really trust God, really lean on Him or place all our burdens on Him, we find that there is no risk at all. Close out this year! Plan your goals for next year! Strive to achieve those new goals! Remember Isaiah 26:3, “Thou will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on thee, Because he trusteth in thee.” Let’s all do something amazing in 2023! Plan today for tomorrow.
