Jonathan Armstrong
Jonathan joined our staff in December 2015. He graduated from West Coast Baptist College in 2016 with his bachelor’s in Bible and Church Ministries. He also has completed his master’s in Christian Counseling. After graduation, he and his wife, Jenessa, were married in June 2016. Currently, Jonathan serves as the Executive Pastor at Tucson Baptist Church and oversees all day-to-day campus operations. Noah Kerch
Noah joined the staff in June 2022. He graduated from West Coast Baptist College with a Bachelor’s degree in Bible and Church Ministries in 2021. Chris Traynor
Chris and his family moved to Tucson in December 2016 and joined the staff in January 2017. He has extensive experience in church maintenance and is a welcomed addition to the church family. He and his wife Lisa have two children, Kaitlyn and Jeremy. Chris oversees all maintenance of our campus. He also oversees the implementation of stewardship projects. Children’s Administrator
Erica Merriam
Erica joined the church staff in October 2021 and serves as Children’s Administrator and Pastor Armstrong’s Secretary at Tucson Baptist Church. In 2025, she earned an Associate degree in Bible from Tucson Baptist Bible Institute. She has a servant’s heart and is always willing to help wherever needed, faithfully supporting church ministries with a joyful spirit. Outside of ministry, she enjoys time with her son, Jacob. Lauren Taylor
Lauren joined our staff in March 2022. Prior to working for Tucson Baptist, she spent 8 years working for the University of Arizona doing administrative and financial work. Lauren started attending Tucson Baptist in 2005 where she later met her husband Daniel, and they were married in November 2012. Shelli Armstrong
Shelli came to Tucson with her husband, Pastor Brent Armstrong, in 2009. She has served Tucson Baptist Church in many capacities over the past 15 years. In her current position, she plans and coordinates events. She willingly serves in whatever capacity is needed. Shelli enjoys spending time with her husband, her three children and their spouses, and her eight grandchildren. She loves to travel and has a passion for missions.
Awana Commander (volunteer)

Daniel has served as the Awana Commander, or Awana Ministry Director, at Tucson Baptist Church on a volunteer basis since 2016.
